Anne Taylor, GIS Specialist & Technical Advisor Lead
Anne is a seasoned professional with 40 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and location intelligence. Beginning her career as a software engineer, Anne developed GIS and IT applications, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in the industry. In 2003, she transitioned to a business development role at Esri, where she excelled as an Account Manager and later as a Senior Account Manager for the National Government Civilian team.
During her tenure at Esri, Anne collaborated with various bureaus and agencies within the Department of the Interior and Department of Agriculture, fostering strong partnerships and delivering innovative GIS and location intelligence solutions. Her work with Native American communities became a particular passion, leading her to manage the Bureau of Indian Affairs and spearhead Esri’s Tribal Program. In this capacity, Anne worked closely with GIS professionals and executives to ensure the effective implementation of Esri technology, aligning with the mission and goals of each customer.
A prolific contributor to the field, Anne co-published two map books showcasing the GIS and location intelligence work of Native Nations and co-authored a book detailing how Native Americans utilize GIS technology to support their communities. A crowning achievement of her career was organizing the inaugural Native Nations Summit at the Esri International User Conference in 2023, a landmark event that highlighted the transformative power of GIS and location intelligence for Native communities.
