Long-Range Infrastructure Strategy Plan
Date: October 27-28, 2024
We were excited to be invited back to the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma by the Pawnee Business Council this fall to facilitate a 2-day planning retreat. The goal was to review the Tribe’s 2022 Strategic Infrastructure Strategy, developed by SEE Renewal in 2022, on behalf of the Tribe. Thanks to strong leadership and committed staff, the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma is successfully implementing the plan. This success is demonstrated by the Tribe’s ability to secure funding for many of the priority projects listed in the 2022 plan. The Pawnee Nation’s foresight and ability to undertake and carry out multiple large-scale projects is impressive. During the site visit, Amy Wilson, Founder & Principal Consultant, led Tribal leadership and staff in reviewing and identifying key goals and objectives related to previous priority projects and emerging needs. The outcome was an infrastructure report and updated prioritization matrix, visually ranking priority tasks. Together, the 2024 Infrastructure Retreat Report and the 2022 Infrastructure Plan will serve as a formalized mechanism by which the Pawnee Nation can demonstrate past achievements, illustrate capacities to carry out large-scale projects, show human, financial, and built assets needed to meet community goals, and justify funding requests.
